Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ALVO (“ALVO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the ALVO platform and its features, including ALVO Calendar (collectively, the “Services”). ALVO provides software to insurance agencies and their licensed agents. The Services are intended for business use by those agencies and agents (“you”).
1. Information we collect
Account and agency information
When your agency provisions your access, we collect information such as your name, work email address, role, and the agency you belong to, so we can operate your account and secure the Services.
Information you provide and generate
As you use the Services, we process the records you and your agency create — for example contacts, appointments, call activity, and notes — to provide the functionality you rely on.
Google user data (ALVO Calendar)
ALVO Calendar is optional. If you choose to connect your Google Account, Google asks you to grant specific permissions, and we access only the following Google user data to make scheduling work:
- Basic profile and email (
openid,email) — to identify which agent connected the calendar. - Google Calendar availability (
calendar.readonly) — to read your busy/free times so clients are only offered times you are actually available. - Google Calendar events (
calendar.events) — to create, update, and cancel the appointment events that clients book through your ALVO booking link.
We also store the OAuth access and refresh tokens Google issues, so ALVO Calendar can keep your availability and bookings in sync until you disconnect.
2. How we use information
- To operate ALVO Calendar — check your availability and create, update, or cancel appointments you accept.
- To provide, secure, maintain, and support the Services for you and your agency.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Google API Services — Limited Use. ALVO’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to provide the Services:
- With your agency. The Services are operated on behalf of your agency, which administers your account.
- Service providers. We use trusted infrastructure providers (for example, cloud hosting) that process data under contract, solely to run the Services on our behalf.
- Legal reasons. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ALVO, our users, or the public.
We never sell your information, and we do not share Google user data with third parties except as necessary to provide and secure the features you use, or as required by law.
4. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and secure storage of OAuth tokens. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to what is necessary.
5. Data retention
We retain Google user data only as long as needed to provide ALVO Calendar to you. When you disconnect your Google Account from ALVO — or when your account is closed — we delete the stored Google OAuth tokens and stop accessing your Google data. Records already written to your own Google Calendar remain in your calendar under your control.
6. Your choices and controls
- Disconnect anytime. You can disconnect Google Calendar from within ALVO, which revokes our ongoing access.
- Revoke from Google. You can also review and revoke ALVO’s access directly in your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Access and deletion. Contact us (below) to request access to or deletion of information we hold about you, subject to your agency’s administration of the account.
7. Children’s privacy
The Services are for business use by licensed insurance professionals and are not directed to children under 13, who should not use the Services.
8. International users
ALVO is operated in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand your information is processed in the United States.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
